We love chapati! So simple and easy to make. Below is our recipe. Goes perfectly with your mung soup or kitchari :)
Ingredients.
2 cups of flour (wholemeal, spelt, barley or buckwheat). I used 1/2 wholemeal and 1/2 spelt.
3/4 cup of warm water.
1-2 tablespoon of ghee or sesame oil (we prefer ghee).
Himalayan rock salt to taste.
Optional roasted cumin and/or fennel seeds.
Instructions.
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the warm water.
Knead well until it becomes a soft dough.
Best if you let the dough rest for about 30 minutes and then knead again.
Make large walnut size balls and roll them on a floured board until it becomes very thin.
Heat a frying pan until medium hot and cook the chapati on each side for about 30 seconds.
Enjoy!
