For the ones who have already tried our ready made kitchari packs - We hope you love them as much as we do. If you would like to have something alongside, try a homemade chapati. This is so easy to make and it tastes so delicious.
All you need is:
1. two cups of flour (wholemeal, spelt, barley or buckwheat). I have used 1/2 wholemeal and 1/2 spelt
2. 3/4 cup of warm water
3. 1-2 tablespoon of ghee or sesame oil (I love it with ghee)
4. Himalayan rock salt to taste
5. Optional roasted cumin and/or fennel seeds
How to make it:
Take all the ingredients and add the warm water. Knead well until it is a soft dough. Best if you let the dough rest for about 30 minutes and then knead again. Make large walnut size balls and roll them on a floured board until it becomes very thin. Heat a frying pan until medium hot and cook the chapati on each side for about 30 seconds. Serve with your Kitchari.
Enjoy your meal With love from Lakshmi Ayurveda xxx
