Striving to live in harmony with our environment. Ayurveda offers wisdom and tools to align our nature with the seasons ☀️ ❄️ As we transition into spring season, this is an optimal time to undergo detox programs
Spring is the season of the Kapha dosha. Kapha dosha is made up of the elements of Jala (water) and Pritvi (earth). The qualities of both water and earth can produce strength and stability in the body. However, when out of balance, Kapha may present symptoms of fatigue, heaviness and weight gain, a lack of enthusiasm, constipation, a thick coating on the tongue, headaches, poor concentration, joint and muscle pain or skin problems. This would indicate that there are digestive toxins, called AMA, in the body.
In addition to body purification treatments, Ayurveda offers suggestions to balance the Kapha Dosha during the spring season with diet. A few recommendations include:
* Apples
* Blueberries
* Pomegranates
* Broccoli
* Cauliflower
* Kale
* Leafy greens
* Millet
* Barley
* Basmati Rice
* Lentils
* Sunflower seeds
*Kitchari and mung soup
* Spices!
❌ Avoid caffeine, curd, excess yoghurt, ice cream, and other Kapha aggravating foods.
We always suggest speaking with an Ayurvedic practitioner to determine which foods and routines are most suitable for you. You are welcome to contact us with any questions and we look forward to welcoming you to the clinic.
