We have currently clients undergoing ghee intake as part of their Panchakarma program here at the clinic.
One of them is myself, the picture shows the ghee consumed, early morning instead of breakfast.
The process of Snehapana (drinking warm medicated ghee) is important to help eliminate deep-seated toxins from the body.
It is such a wonderful experience, when you start feeling the shift of toxins leaving the body.
If you have undergone Panchakarma at the clinic you will be familiar with the process - the prayers and chants said prior to intake are important and being in a peaceful state of mind.
The ghee is warmed and after directed to take the ghee you will bite on a piece of citrus to help mitigate the flavour of the ghee. It’s actually quiet pleasant.
After digesting the ghee the body will feel light and a proper sense of hunger and thirst will arise.
But why the Ghee intake?
What is Snehapana?
A quote from the Charaka Samhita on the incredible results of Snehapana, intake of sneha dravya, medicated ghee/oils.

Have you undergone snehapana? How was your experience drinking medicated ghee?
This process is only to be done under the direct supervision of an experienced Ayurvedic Practitioner. The type of ghee used as well as amount is very important and only to be prescribed after consultation with a practitioner.
We look forward to discuss a suitable end of winter cleanse / rejuvenation. Appointments are available Monday - Saturday.
With Love, Karin and the Lakshmi team ❤️
