Would you like to learn how to make your own Ayurvedic medicinal oil or how to make herbal Ghee?

We offer classical and authentic Ayurveda training and education here in Australia.

Our belief is that Ayurveda needs to be taught and learned in a clinical setting. A hands on and practical experience is offered during your clinical hours at the Lakshmi clinic a busy and fully equipped Panchakarma clinic.

Enrolments open from the 16th of April 2025.

Today is the third day of our Karpooradi thailam preparation. We love preparing our own classical Ayurvedic Medicines and are very passionate about this.

The process of making Ayurvedic oils is called Sneha Kalpana.

Sneha means fat or a fatty material. The oil is boiled with Kalka (herbal paste), Swarasa (juice) or Kwatha (herbal decoction) so the active therapeutic properties of the Dravya (herbs) enter into the ghee or thaila/oil.

It is cooked until the proper cooking stage has been achieved.

There are 4 stages of Paka (cooking) mentioned in the text: Mridu, Madhyama, Khara and Dagdha Paka. Once the correct cooking stages is achieved the oil is filtered.

If you are interested in learning how to prepare Ayurvedic medicated thaila/ oil enrol at the Lakshmi Academy. info@lakshmiayurveda.com.au.

A wide range of classical Ayurvedic oils are available at the Lakshmi shop and online.
