Goddess Mahagauri. She is seen with qualities of tranquility and purity. She is seated on a white bull, adorned in white. Maha can be translated from Sanskrit as ‘great’ and gauri as ‘white’.
Colour of the day: Peacock green. How delightful!
She holds two different mudras, the Varada and Abhay mudras. As mentioned in a previous post, the Abhayamudra is significant to dispel fears. The Varada mudra symbolises an offering or forgiveness. These two mudras are often used together and can help encourage a more sattvic state of mind.
Worshiping Mahagauri is said to help relieve devotees of their sins and remove material attachments, assisting in self-realisation.
