Gratitude to Ayurveda, my guru Dr L Mahadevan Sir, all of our clients and the wonderful Lakshmi team.
Today I had the wonderful opportunity to book myself in for one of my favourite Ayurvedic treatments.
Yes, the one and only Pinda Sveda. Receiving this treatment is pure bliss for my body, mind and soul.
While lying on the dhroni (authentic massage table), feeling the warm oil and potali (herbal bag) on my skin, my first thought was “I wished everyone can experience and has access to authentic Ayurvedic therapies”.
The healing benefits of Ayurveda are beyond one’s imagination. Ayurveda is a complete system of Medicine and healing.
I reflected on a few clients and highlights from this week.
The birth of a beautiful Ayurvedic baby girl. We assisted with an Ayurvedic fertility treatment from pre-conception up to giving anuvasana basti prior birth.
The client who is symptom free from her chronic UTI’s and stopped her antibiotics.
The patient who had a relapse of her rheumatoid arthritis, avoided steroid treatments and has remarkably improved within just one week.
The person who had relief from her back spasm after just two Pinda Sveda treatments.
Just a little insight of the diversity in people and disease we see and treat. Ayurveda is for everyone.
With one aim to achieve good health.
The most often quoted definition of health in Ayurveda comes from the Sushruta Samhita, shown below.
“Samadosha Samagnischa Samadhatu
Malakriyaah
Prasanna Atma Indriya Manaha Swatha ity Abhidheeyate”
This translates as “the balance of the dosha, balanced conversion of food into the dhatus, balanced digestive fire, and the metabolism of food and proper elimination of waste.” This is the definition of health.
If you are interested in starting your Ayurvedic journey. We look forward to welcoming you at the Lakshmi clinic.
With Love, Karin
